About Language Laboratory

The language laboratory is an audio or audio-visual installation used as an aid in modern language teaching. Language labs provide practice in an entertaining and interactive way to acquire the four main language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing (LSRW Skills). It helps to enhance the pronunciation, communication skills and soft skills.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

1. To provide a platform to the students to develop their language skills.

2. To motivate the students to reduce stage phobia.

3. To provide a variety of study material to the students.

4. To enhance the use of ICT in teaching-learning process of English language.

Solving Online Quizzes

In Language Laboratory, We have conducted activity based on LSRW Skills. The purpose of this activity is to solve online quizzes to enhance LSRW of English language. Students from first year E & TC Engineering Program solved online quizzes from online open resources. The Students achieved Course Outcomes (COs) like Formulating correct grammatical sentences (CO1), Summarize the comprehension passages CO2).

PO1 – Basic Knowledge
Students used basic knowledge of usages of grammar while summarizing videos after listening and watching.

PO8 – Individual & Team Work
Students performed this activity in Individual level.

PO9 – Communication Skill
Students from First Year summarize their given videos in their own sentences using correct formation of sentences and using appropriate words.

PO10 - Life Long Learning
Students can learn the formation of sentences and expression of thoughts and ideas for life long learning.

Presentation Skills

In Language Laboratory, We have conducted activity based on PowerPoint Presentation. The purpose of this activity is to prepare PowerPoint Presentation and present PPT. Students from First year Computer Engineering delivered prepared PowerPoint Presentation on given topics – Shiva’s Blessing, Electronics Waste & JRD TATA. The Students achieved Course Outcomes (COs) like Formulating correct grammatical sentences (CO1), Summarize the comprehension passages CO2), and Delivered prepared speeches on the given context (CO5).

In Language Laboratory, We have conducted Dialogue Writing activity on various topics. The purpose of the activity is to express ideas and thoughts on given topic in the form of dialogue. Students from first year Computer Engineering Program developed dialogue writing and performed role play based on dialogue writing. This activity planned for the students understanding and ability to express their ideas and thoughts on given topics.. Students from first year Computer Engineering achieved Course Outcomes (COs) like Formulating correct grammatical sentences (CO1), Compose dialogues for the different situations (CO3), from this activity.

Students from first year Computer Engineering Program participated in Group Discussion. This activity planned for the students understanding and ability to express their ideas and thoughts on given topics..Students from first year Mechanical Engineering achieved Course Outcomes (COs) like Formulating correct grammatical sentences (CO1), Summarize the comprehension passages ©2), from this activity.

In Language Laboratory, We have conducted activity based on Listening Skills. The purpose of this activity is to listen uploaded videos from MOODLE and summarize in his/her own sentences. Students from first year E & TC Engineering Program listened videos of Shiva’s Blessing, Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam, JRD TATA, A Messiah for the abandoned Sick : Gurmeet Singh and Arunima Singh : A Biography. The Students achieved Course Outcomes (COs) like Formulating correct grammatical sentences (CO1), Summarize the comprehension passages CO2), and Delivered prepared speeches on the given context (CO5).

In Language Laboratory, We have conducted Quiz Competition. The purpose of the activity is to prepare questions and asked the questions for correct answer. The students divided into two groups. Students from first year Computer Engineering Program participated in Quiz competition. This activity planned on comprehension passages. Both group prepared questions based on given comprehension passages. Students from first year E & TC Engineering achieved Course Outcomes (COs) like Formulating correct grammatical sentences (CO1), Summarize the comprehension passages ©2), from this activity.
